Redcar and Stockton motorcyclists die after North York Moors crashes

A 51-year-old motorcyclist has died after a collision with a car on the A169 in North Yorkshire.

The man, from Redcar, was travelling towards Whitby when the crash happened at the Lockton Lane junction, in Lockton, on Sunday.

He was seriously injured and taken to Scarborough General Hospital, but pronounced dead later.

It is the second crash involving a motorcyclist over the weekend on the North York Moors.

A 47-year-old man from Stockton, near Middlesbrough, died on Sunday after his motorbike was in collision with a car on the A171 near Cloughton.

In both incidents, North Yorkshire Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
