Ingleton MOT fire: Evacuated residents return home

Residents evacuated from their homes after a large fire at an MOT test centre in North Yorkshire have been allowed to return home.

Those living within 200m of Blue Line Auto Logistics in Ingleton were moved to a primary school after the blaze broke out at about 18:30 GMT on Friday.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the building had been "extensively damaged". No-one was hurt.

North Yorkshire Police said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.

A full investigation is due to start once the site cools down.

The fire service said the test centre, which measured 30m by 20m (98ft by 66ft), had "contained various vehicles, gas cylinders and equipment" and five crews tackled the blaze at its height.

A nearby stretch of the A65 has reopened after it was closed in both directions.
