More than 30 properties needed to be pumped out and a number of people were rescued in their vehicles after flooding hit parts of North Yorkshire.
Five vehicles were stranded on the A65 between Ingleton and Long Preston, with North Yorkshire Police closing stretches of the road at one stage.
The force said a number of minor roads were blocked and some villages in the Craven area were difficult to access.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said it attended "numerous flooding incidents".
A spokesperson said crews from Bentham, Settle and Skipton had "assisted over 30 properties with pumping out water and diverting water flow" in the Ingleton and Bentham area between 21:00 GMT and midnight.
