Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Selby have arrested five people in connection with the death.
Officers were called to a property in Millgate in the town shortly before 01:15 GMT on Thursday.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
North Yorkshire Police later arrested four other people in connection with the death, but did not provide any further details.
Det Supt Wayne Fox, from the force, said there would be an increased police presence in the area to reassure the public.
"Understandably this incident is shocking for members of the local community, but I would like to stress that we are currently treating this as an isolated incident," he said.
