A lorry driver has been arrested after a man died in a crash on a key route in North Yorkshire.

A black Ford Ranger and a white Iveco lorry crashed at about 07:15 BST near Ingleton on the A65.

The driver of the Ford, a man in his 30s from Settle, died in the collision, North Yorkshire Police said.

The force said the lorry driver, a man in his 40s, was arrested in connection with the incident and remained in police custody.

Officers have appealed for motorists who saw either of the vehicles on the busy route to contact police.
