Firefighters had to free a 70-year-old man following a two-vehicle crash in Richmondshire.
A red Suzuki car and a yellow Ford van collided at the Moor Lane junction on the A66, near East Layton, at about 20:30 BST on Tuesday, police said.
Officers said the 70-year-old car driver was taken to hospital after being rescued from his vehicle by firefighters.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road was closed for four hours while emergency services worked at the scene, North Yorkshire Police said.
The force has appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage.
