A new floodlit skate park has opened at a seaside town in North Yorkshire.
The £360,000 venue in Filey has been designed for skateboard, BMX bike, scooter and wheelchair motocross users.
The park on West Avenue, next to the multi-use games area, opened on Saturday with a series of skateboarding lessons and contests to mark the event.
Councillor Keane Duncan said it would provide "a space where young people can thrive, express themselves, and build lasting friendships".
Mr Duncan, executive member for parks and grounds at the council, said the site was "a great addition to the town which will bring together a lot of young people, offer them something exciting and encourage physical activity".
Skater Max Short, 19, has been involved with the project for the past few years and said he was "delighted" the park had now opened.
"Skate parks are fantastic for enhancing your skills and learning from more experienced people," he said.
"You not only gain skills but it's great exercise and can bring together people of all ages."
The venue was funded by money from North Yorkshire Council, Filey Town Council and the Office of the North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.
