The Scarborough tree is made from items needed for food parcels
A 20ft (6.1m) "alternative" Christmas tree made entirely from food items has been unveiled in Scarborough.
The tree was made to raise awareness of food poverty and features the top 10 most needed items this winter.
It forms part of Tesco's food donation scheme, which encourages customers to donate staple items this Christmas.
Joanna Freeborough, from The Trussell Trust, said: "This winter is going to be the busiest yet for food banks, and they're stretched to breaking point."

The Christmas tree is located in Scarborough's Trafalgar Square
On Monday, carols were sung around the tree as its lights were turned on in Trafalgar Square.
Ms Freeborough, whose organisation supports food banks across the country, said: "Anything we can do in our communities to help and pull together, especially at this time of the year, has a really big impact."
