Three people have been arrested after nearly £10,000-worth of goods stolen from York Designer Outlet was seized, police said.
North Yorkshire Police stopped a vehicle seen being driven "suspiciously" at the shopping centre on Saturday after a tip-off.
The stolen property was recovered and three people were arrested.
A woman, 43, and two men aged 30 and 34 have been charged with shop theft and released on bail.
A police spokesman said: "At a time when the retail industry is experiencing its busiest season of the year shoplifting is not only a nuisance, but it carries significant financial burden.
"We are committed to swiftly acting on all information to help reduce this type of offending."
He added: "I would like to thank the member of the public who contacted us as this led to three arrests and the recovery of thousands of pounds of stolen property."
