Acaster Malbis attempted murder suspect may be using fake name, say police

Police said Jack Crawley could be using the fake name Kyle

A man wanted on suspicion of attempted murder after an attack near York may be using a different name, police said.

Jack Crawley, 19, is wanted in connection with an attack on a man near the village of Acaster Malbis at about 20:00 GMT on 5 January.

North Yorkshire Police said he could be going by the fake name Kyle and may currently be in Rotherham.

The public should not approach him but report any possible sightings to police.

He is described as white, 6ft 3in, of proportionate build with very short hair and short facial hair.

Police said Mr Crawley, from Carlisle, has links to Leeds, Rotherham, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh.

The force urged anyone who believed they had seen him or had any information about his location to contact police.
