Watch: CCTV captures moment York cyclist hit in fail-to-stop crash

CCTV footage has been released showing the moment a York cyclist was left with serious injuries when they were hit by a car.

The car failed to stop after the collision on the A19 at the junction with Water Lane on 7 December 2023, North Yorkshire Police said.

Renewing their appeal for information, officers hope the footage will encourage witnesses to come forward.

Traffic Constable Mark Davey of the Roads Policing Group said: "The cyclist sustained serious injuries following the collision and we are committed to doing all that we can to establish exactly what took place.

"I'm hopeful that by releasing the CCTV footage this will encourage any witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage that has not already spoken to us to come forward."

The car was described as small and blue.
