Harrogate: Landmark buildings to be illuminated for new festival

Landmark buildings in a North Yorkshire spa town are to be illuminated as part of a new light festival.
Light beams and projections are being used to transform some of Harrogate town centre's green spaces and buildings.
Crescent Gardens and the cenotaph are among areas being illuminated from dusk until 22:00 GMT on Friday and Saturday.
The event is organised by arts charity Harrogate International Festivals.
It is supported by the festival's Future 50 fund, North Yorkshire Council, Visit North Yorkshire and Harrogate Business Improvement District (BID).
Matthew Chapman, from Harrogate BID, said it would be a "fantastic occasion".
He said the event featured lights and soundscapes designed by the internationally renowned Leeds-based artist James Bawn.
He described the festival as a "unique Harrogate experience" which would create a "vibrant town".
North Yorkshire Council's executive member for culture, Simon Myers, said the event was "an opportunity to celebrate the spaces which we live and work in".
"Beam demonstrates the importance of free events to animate our communities and ensure access to the arts for the widest possible audiences," he added.
