Repairs costing £3m are set to go ahead on Filey's sea wall
Major repairs are set to go ahead to protect Filey's sea wall from further deterioration.
The northern and southern ends of the wall were being "outflanked" by the North Sea, according to a North Yorkshire Council report.
To ensure its future, work would cost almost £3m, which was £1.3m more than it was first forecast to cost in 2021.
The council said this was due to repairs being more significant than expected and rising construction costs.
The scheme would be funded through an Environment Agency grant and is expected to start later this year.
