Police in York have issued an image of two "key" witnesses they want to speak to after a toddler was picked up by an unknown man and kissed on her face.

The incident happened at about 16:00 BST on Tuesday 7 May in the woodland area of the city's Museum Gardens.

Officers said the two people pictured were believed to have been present when the incident happened.

They said they wanted to "stress that they are not suspects but witnesses who could provide vital information".

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson added: "We do not have CCTV images of the suspect in this case and the witnesses' information could be key to helping us identify the suspect."
