Non urgent NI ambulances cancelled due to weather

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said it made the move in the interests of patient safety
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) has cancelled most outpatient appointments for the rest of Monday and Tuesday morning due to the weather.
NIAS said it would still endeavour to provide services for cancer and renal patients.
It said the move was necessary in the interests of patient safety and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
It has asked anyone with an appointment to contact their hospital to rearrange.
The ambulance service is already facing major difficulties responding to 999 and urgent calls within normal timeframes.
A spokesperson said: "We are attempting to get through to every call received but would ask for patience and understanding for any delays that may occur.
"To assist us in keeping our emergency fleet free for the most serious calls, NIAS would further ask that calls only be placed for those with a real clinical need for ambulance transport."
