Student demonstrators attended a protest in Belfast on Saturday against a possible increase in tuition fees.

The event began outside Belfast City Hall at 1330 GMT.

A group called the Northern Ireland Student Assembly was behind the event and urged students to "pull together for peaceful protest".

Last December, eight people were arrested following a student demonstration in Belfast city centre.

Minister for Learning Danny Kennedy has not ruled out a possible rise in third level fees in Northern Ireland after MPs in Westminster voted to increase fees in England.
