Teenager's dream Lennon autograph sold for 1,300 euros

John Lennon bought an island in Ireland
A County Mayo man's teenage love for the Beatles paid dividends on Wednesday when he sold his old autograph book.
It contained the signatures of John Lennon and Yoko Ono and was sold at Sheppard's, external auction house, Durrow, for 1,300 euros.
Charles Mulchrone, 61, from Newport was a teenager when the couple came to stay at a hotel in Mulranny in the summer of 1968.
He plucked up the courage to approach them and got their signatures.
He said they were "sweet as pie" to him.
John Lennon had bought Dorinish island in Clew Bay and it was said that he had wanted to build a house there. But that never happened.
He was shot dead in New York in 1980 and Yoko Ono later sold the island to a local farmer.
The autograph album was bought by an Irishman living in Berlin.
