In a speech at a civic reception in Sligo, the Prince of Wales spoke of how the 1979 IRA murder of his great-uncle Lord Mountbatten gave him a profound understanding of how people affected by the Troubles suffered. He would later visit Mullaghmore, where Lord Mountbatten and three others were killed.
