Northern Ireland Game of Thrones crew members win Emmys

Two Northern Irish production crew members on the fantasy TV series Game of Thrones have won creative Emmy awards.

Ronan Hill, who previously won in 2012, received his second Emmy award for outstanding sound mixing for a drama.

Carla Stronge, meanwhile, won her first Emmy for outstanding casting for a drama for her work on the programme.

The creative Emmy awards were held in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

They reward technical achievement on TV series and programmes in areas such as casting, writing and sound.

Saturday night's ceremony is a precursor to the main Emmy awards event on 20 September.

Game of Thrones won eight prizes in the creative Emmys in all.

Series 6 of the successful HBO adventure series in currently being filmed in Northern Ireland.

The programme is also expected to win a number of prizes at the main Emmy ceremony.

Much of Game of Thrones is filmed in Northern Ireland - at the Titanic Studios in Belfast and several other locations.
