Hundreds left without power after rain and wind hits Northern Ireland

Hundreds were left without power as heavy rain and strong winds moved across Northern Ireland early on Tuesday.
Most of the disruption was in the east, with reports of fallen trees and customers left without electricity.
A Met Office weather warning was in place until 09:00 GMT.
It warned of possible flooding, increased journey times, and loss of power and other services.
NIE Networks said the high winds "caused a limited amount of damage to the electricity network with some customers losing power as a result".

It will be a mild but wild start with gusts reaching around 60mph, especially towards the east.
The eastern counties that bear the brunt of the wind and rain through the morning rush hour and there is a risk of disruption with surface water flooding in places as well as those squally winds.
Temperatures will be about around 11c but will tend to drop a little as the rain clears away and the gales subside. Apart from the odd shower it will be a drier and brighter end to the day.
Warnings for strong winds and heavy rain were also issued across the Republic of Ireland.

A Status Yellow warning there came into force at 13:00 on Monday until 04:00 Tuesday.
Met Éireann warned of gusts up to 100km/h (62mph) widely, with stronger gusts for coastal areas.
Elsewhere, warnings come into force at 19:00 Monday until 09:00 Tuesday.

The stormy weather comes just a few days after Storm Deirdre caused disruption because of strong winds and heavy rain on Saturday.
