A north Belfast man who died in what has been described as a "tragic incident" in Turkey on Saturday has been named as Richie Molloy.

North Belfast MP John Finucane said two other men from the same area are in hospital.

Mr Finucane said the community would need to "rally round" and support the families of those affected.

It is believed Mr Molloy was in his 30s, however it is not yet clear what caused his death.

The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs said it was "aware of the case and providing consular assistance".

Mr Finucane said it was a horrific situation and the community was devastated.

"All three families are travelling out [to Turkey], as I understand it," he told the BBC.

"There are two families that are just travelling out hoping that their loved one will pull through from intensive care.

"The Department of Foreign Affairs has made contact with all three families and will be assisting them throughout the process."

SDLP Cllr Paul McCusker said the three men were from north Belfast.

Two of the men were in a critical condition in hospital, he said on Twitter, external.
