School closures the 'last thing' we should look at - Prof Michael McBride
There are "undoubtedly" unidentified cases of the Omicron Covid-19 variant in Northern Ireland, Northern Ireland's chief medical officer has said.
Prof Sir Michael McBride said little was known about the variant yet so it was important not to "get ahead of ourselves".
He said school closures would be a last resort.
Speaking to BBC News NI, he said we will see a "significant increase" in case numbers before Christmas.
