Michelle McIlveen suspends 'toxic' teaching council
Education Minister Michelle McIlveen says a toxic and divisive atmosphere has been responsible for some of the problems faced by an NI teaching body.
The General Teaching Council of Northern Ireland (GTCNI) is responsible for registering new teachers and upholding professional standards.
The minister has suspended it, saying it has not fulfilled its responsibilities.
