Saintfield windmill damaged in 'big wind' set to be restored

A windmill badly damaged more than 200 years ago is to get a new lease of life.

The £1m park project in Saintfield, County Down, will also restore a section of the old Belfast and County Down railway line.

The field the windmill is in was bought by an American benefactor who discovered that his ancestors once lived in a cottage on the site.

The park is scheduled to open in 2024.
