Newry: Man dies after crash on Belfast-Dublin road

A man has died following a two-vehicle crash on the main Belfast to Dublin road.

The A1 dual carriageway was closed near Newry after a tractor and a grey Saab 93 car were involved in the incident.

The crash, which happened on the northbound lane, was reported shortly after 08:40 GMT and the road was closed in both directions for several hours.

The road has since reopened. Police have appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage.
