Police have been granted an extra 36 hours to question a man in connection with the murder of Mark Lovell in Newry.

The 58-year-old was shot a number of times at close range in his car near his home in Ardcarn Park on 1 December.

The 34-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Two other men, aged 45 and 40, arrested on Wednesday following searches of property in the Newry area, have been released on bail.
