Enniskillen: Woman in her 70s dies in Killynure Crescent fire

A woman in her 70s has died in a house fire in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh.

The fire broke out at the property at Killynure Crescent in the town on Thursday evening.

The police said they received reports of the fire at about 17:55 GMT and went to the scene with Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) crews.

"Four fire appliances attended the scene - two from Enniskillen, one from Irivinestown and one from Lisnaskea," NIFRS area commander David Nichol said.

"Firefighters extinguished the fire but tragically a woman died at the scene," Mr Nichol said.

"The thoughts and sympathies of Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service are with the loved ones of the woman who has sadly died."

The fire service left the scene at 21:54 and are continuing to investigate the cause of the blaze.
