Detectives investigating the death of a woman killed in her home in Portadown, County Armagh, have charged a 25-year-old man with murder.

Alesia Nazarova, a 37-year-old mother-of-one, died after a fire at the property on Church Street on Tuesday.

Her 12-year-old daughter was home at the time and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The man has also been charged with attempted murder, arson with intent to endanger life and theft.

He is due to appear at Lisburn Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Friends of Ms Nazarova have described her as "a kind young woman who deeply loved her family".

They said she was always willing to help others in need and "especially loved her daughter who is now left on her own without her mother".
