Belfast: Man taken to hospital after being stabbed in the face

Police were told the man was assaulted in Fitzroy Avenue in south Belfast

A 19-year-old man has been taken to hospital after he was stabbed in the face in south Belfast on Tuesday evening.

Police said the victim was found in University Avenue at about 19:30 BST.

They had been told the attack happened in Fitzroy Avenue at about 19:10.

Officers said the suspect was described as being a man in his 20s with short, dark, curly hair and a beard.
