PMDD: Belfast pupils learning about severe period symptoms

Pupils at Ashfield Girls School in Belfast are being taught about women's health issues, including premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

It is a severe form of PMS, symptoms women can experience before their period.

PMDD can affect up to 8% of women in reproductive age.

Emma Chapman, a pupil at the school, said young girls should be taught more about symptoms from a younger age.
