County Antrim: Motorcyclist, 30, and pedestrian, 22, die after separate crashes

A pedestrian and a motorcyclist have died following separate road crashes in County Antrim.

Connor McGrugan, 33, from Ballyclare, County Antrim, died after a collision involving his motorcycle and a car in the town at about 16:35 BST last Sunday.

Mr McGrugan was taken to hospital after the crash on the Templepatrick Road, but died from his injuries.

On Friday, a man died after being hit by a car in Glenavy.

The victim, 22-year-old Jordan Nixon, was from Moira in County Down.

Police said the incident happened at about 22:50 on the Moira Road.

Officers, along with colleagues from other emergency services attended, but Mr Nixon died at the scene.

Police said it had been reported to them that a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a Volvo XC90 car.

Inquiries into the incidents are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone with information or dash-cam footage to get in touch.

On Thursday, an 80-year-old man died days after his motorbike was involved in a separate collision near Ballymena, County Antrim.
