Man dies after falling from cliffs at Portrush

A man has died after falling from cliffs at Ramore Head in Portrush, County Antrim, the coastguard has said.

Police, the ambulance service and the RNLI were also involved in the operation which began just before 19:00 BST on Monday.

It is understood a member of the public raised the alarm.

Coleraine Coastguard said its rope rescue teams recovered the man but he was declared dead at the scene.
