Police say traffic on the M2 northbound was moving slowly while emergency services attended the fire

The M2 motorway on the outskirts of north Belfast has reopened after part of it was shut due to a vehicle on fire near the Bellevue Bridge.

Police said southbound lanes of the M2 were closed between Sandyknowes roundabout and the Foreshore.

Traffic had been diverted, while there was also disruption on the northbound carriageway.

The van which was on fire was later moved to the hard shoulder and the road cleared.
