A young girl has been left "upset and shaken" after a gang of men burgled a home in east Belfast while she was inside alone.

Police received a report of the incident at a property in Greenville Road just after 21:00 BST on Friday.

Four men, three of whom were masked, removed an item before leaving.

Detective Sergeant McCartan said: "The child wasn't injured, but understandably she has been left extremely upset and shaken."

Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
