Domestic abuse victim was 'thrown across the room' during attack

A young woman who says she was subjected to physical abuse as a child by her father has been describing the impact of the violence.

Ellie Vaughan told BBC Spotlight she witnessed attacks on her family and believed living in an abusive household contributed to her developing an eating disorder.

Ellie's mum, Sharon, told the BBC that she also faced years of violence by Ellie’s father. He did not respond when contacted by the BBC.

Sharon said when her children were attacked that was a "turning point”.
