Two people arrested on suspicion of assault following a "disturbance" at a Londonderry hotel have been released.

A man and a woman, who are both aged in their 30s, were arrested following the incident at a Premier Inn in the Sevenoaks area of the city on Thursday.

A number of Police Service of Northern Ireland vehicles responded to the incident shortly after 19:00 GMT.

The man was released with a community resolution notice for resisting police and disorderly behaviour.

The woman was released unconditionally, the police have said.
