A man murdered in Lurgan, County Armagh, on Sunday has yet to be formally identified, police have said.

Two women, aged 35 and 43, and a 31-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They remain in police custody.

On Sunday, police said they were investigating a sudden death between 02:00 and 05:00 GMT on Edward Street.

Detectives said the investigation is at an early stage and have appealed for information or CCTV footage.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place on Tuesday. It is hoped formal identification of the man will take place then, police said.

The cordon around the scene has been reduced substantially from Sunday.

It is now limited to where a car was found burnt out and the entrance to what appears to be a number of flats.

The police remain at a number of local entrances to this part of the Shankill area in Lurgan where the investigation is focused.

A forensic team have been on-site, at the flat complex.

Det Insp Anthony Kelly, who is leading the murder investigation, said his thoughts are with the victim's family.

"Sadly a family has lost a loved one, which is particularly poignant in the run up to Christmas," he said.

Det Insp Kelly said he is aware there may be video footage circulating on social media and he "would be keen to see it".

Police have launched the Major Incident Public Portal to allow members of the public to upload CCTV, dashcam and any other footage., external
