A large number of pallets of seafood have been stolen from a factory near Downpatrick in County Down, police have said.

It is thought the factory was broken into sometime between 21:00 GMT on Thursday and 07:00 on Friday.

Police received a report that the factory on the Killard Road was entered via a window.

An appeal has been issued by police for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage to contact them.

"I also would appeal to anyone who is offered seafood items in suspicious circumstances to contact Police," Insp Stinton said.
