Railways: Train line closed between Belfast and Carrickfergus

Police have said the railway line is closed at Jordanstown due to an "ongoing incident"

There are currently no trains running between Carrickfergus and Lanyon Place station in Belfast.

Translink have said that due to a "tragic incident" there will be disruption and delays to services on the Larne line.

In a post on social media, they said that Ulsterbus will honour railway tickets on Larne line services.

Translink said that a shuttle train would run between Carrickfergus and Larne.

Police said the railway line is closed at Jordanstown due to an "ongoing incident".

A passenger told BBC News NI they were held on the train for two hours.

Posting on social media, assembly member for East Antrim Stewart Dickson said it was "very difficult and sad news this evening hearing about this tragic incident".

"My heartfelt concern and sympathy to family and friends," he added.
