Ballynahinch: Pensioner struck with phone during home burglary

A man has been struck in the face with a telephone during an aggravated burglary at his home in County Down, police have said.
The attack happened shortly after 03:00 GMT on Monday at Belfast Road, Ballynahinch.
Police said a number of men gained entry at the back of the house.
When the victim, 70, came downstairs, he was assaulted by one of the men using a landline phone as he attempted to reach for it.
Det Sgt Dougherty said the gang ransacked the house but it was not yet clear if anything was taken.
