Castlewellan: Teenager dies following single-car crash

An 18-year-old man has died following a car crash in Castlewellan, County Down.

Jamie Marks, known as Jay, was driving a blue Vauxhall Corsa which crashed on the Ballylough Road shortly after 14:30 GMT on Friday.

Mr Marks, who was from Downpatrick, died at the scene. No other vehicle was involved, according to police.

Officers have appealed to anyone who was travelling in the area between 14:30 and 15:00 GMT on Friday to contact them.

The road was closed for a time but has since reopened to traffic.
