East Belfast: Staff left shaken after gunpoint robbery

Staff have been left shaken after a man pointed a gun at them during a robbery in east Belfast on Tuesday morning, police have said.

The incident happened after 07:00 BST at a shop on Orangefield Lane.

Officers said the man, aged in his late 20s, made off with cash, cigarettes and vapes.

PSNI Det Sgt Alexander said it is believed the suspect made off on foot towards North Road.

"Thankfully, although shaken by the frightening ordeal, the staff were not otherwise injured," they explained."Our investigation is ongoing."
