Rostrevor: Police arrest man following Easter Sunday assault

A 24-year-old man has been arrested following a report of an assault in Rostrevor on Sunday.

The incident occurred at around 21:00 BST in the Bridge Street area.

Police said they received a report that a man in his 20s had sustained serious head injuries after falling to the ground following an altercation at a licensed premises.

He remains in hospital and his condition has been described as critical but stable.

The 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He has been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.
