Hundreds of people have attended the funeral of a 24-year-old Londonderry man shot dead at his home in Buncrana on Thursday.

Andrew Allen, a father of two from the Top of the Hill area of Derry, died after a number of shots were fired through the window of his home.

Dissident republicans have been blamed for his death.

Father Daniel McFaul, who celebrated Requiem Mass, said Andrew's family had asked him to appeal for no retaliation.

"They don't want another family to be put through what Andrew's killers have put his family through.

"He was too young to die, and would have had his whole life ahead of him."

Fr McFaul said those who killed him "brought an evil darkness to our community".

Mr Allen was one of several men forced out of Derry by a republican vigilante group last year.
