Software company 8over8 is planning to create 10 jobs in Londonderry, based at the £12m North West Regional Science Park.

8over8 develops risk management software.

The science park, based at Fort George on the outskirts of Derry city centre, is expected to open in the summer.

The 50,000 sq ft site aims to replicate the format of the Northern Ireland Science Park in Belfast's Titanic Quarter.

The risk management software will be used by companies in the oil, gas and mining industries to manage large infrastructure projects.

8over8 also has offices in North America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East, but chief executive Clare Colhoun said the core of its team would be in Derry.

"We saw a niche in 2000 when we set up with a team of just 15.

"With an ever increasing international demand for our software, our business plan calls for more than 20 additional hires across the company this year, and ten of these are expected to be in Derry."
