'Whitehall waffle' threat from minister Alan Duncan
Minister Alan Duncan described himself as a "grammar fascist" as he explained why he wants to get rid of 'Whitehall waffle' from the Department for International Development.
He claimed staff risk damaging Britain's reputation by using "language that the rest of the world doesn't understand" and traded UK-US language issues with DeAnne Julius, an American economist and former member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee.
