Young people in politics: Pamela Nash and Joan Bakewell
The youngest MP in Parliament said more younger politicians were coming from Scotland and Northern Ireland than the rest of the UK, due to "good relationships between the communities".
Pamela Nash said younger people were "encouraged to speak their mind" there.
Joan Bakewell questioned where the youngsters were who were feeling "passionate about politics" and that older people were not "accepting of the young - they feel threatened by them".
The broadcaster and peer said the Arab Spring was mainly happening in countries with a higher proportion of younger people.
