Liaison appearance

The prime minister will be appearing before MPs on the Liaison Committee on Tuesday (at 4pm) - and the questioning is scheduled to focus on two themes.

Members of the committee, which is made up of MPs who chair other select committees, will be asking David Cameron about the future direction of policing and the criminal justice system; and green government.

With the continuing controversy over wind power and the Home Affairs Committee's report on drugs, there is certainly plenty to talk about. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if a third subject intruded: the Leveson report.

The prime minister is apparently not going to appear before the Culture, Media and Sport Committee, as it conducts its inquiry into press regulation. It rather looks as though that has opened the door to questions from MPs on the Liaison Committee on Tuesday, doesn't it?
