Gibraltar chief minister Fabian Picardo on its future
The people of Gibraltar see their future with the UK and being part of Spain was "not realistic", its chief minister has said.
Fabian Picardo explained it was a case of "not just geography, it must be the principle of consent" when asked why the British Overseas Territory should not be part of Spain.
He was speaking with Jo Coburn, and guest Matthew Taylor who argued Gibraltar's "long term destiny" was as part of Spain. The RSA chief executive said it would be like the Isle of Wight being controlled by Madrid, something which he believed the British people would see as a "constant irritant".
