Election 2015 smaller parties: Mebyon Kernow

Mebyon Kernow stands for seats in Cornwall and is looking for an assembly for the county, but not full independence.

Dick Cole from the Cornish party said it wanted devolution as "part of a rebalancing of democracy within these isles".

He told Jo Coburn on the Daily Politics that one-in-ten Cornish people previously called for a county assembly, but the Labour government "frankly did nothing", and a later centralisation plan "did great harm".

He was supported by SNP deputy leader Stewart Hosie, who was asked about calls for independence, or more powers, for the Scottish isles.

This is one of a series of interviews with 22 smaller parties contesting seats at the 2015 general election
